View to the Northwest from Ponte Vecchio’s Vasari Corridor

View Northwest of the Ponte Vecchio from the Vasari Corridor

The bridges northwest of Ponte Vecchio on a busy Spring day. Ah, the River Arno and its reflected colors! We don’t always think to look in this direction from the Ponte Vecchio, choosing instead to look toward Michelangelo Piazzale and where we’ve been in the tourist center. Look on the other side. Definitely look. And, should you ever have the chance to take a tour through the exquisitely mysterious Vasari Corridor, directly above Ponte Vecchio, do it, for this exqusite view is what you shall see.

Here, a map with the names of the bridges:

Florence Bridges Northwest of the Ponte Vecchio

A few of Florence’s Bridges Northwest of the Ponte Vecchio, from the Vasari Corridor. The Ponte Vecchio, that most famous of foot bridges is located in the lower righthand corner.

From right to left: The Ponte Vecchio, Ponte Santa Trinitá, Ponte Alla Carraia, and Ponte Amerigo Vespucci.
